Hello, my name is Henriette but please call me Henny!
Why Wedding and event Planning?
Well, if you know me, you'll know that I love love and I love family, I love flowers and I love food...
It all started when I was in the auditorium 17 years ago, it was induction day, I was ready to embark on my law journey (a very long journey to say the least.)
On this particular day, I was thinking about weddings, specifically wedding suppliers you know, flourists, decor styling etc. I just remember thinking how cool it would be to have a floral company or decorating business one day.
Suddenly, it was like I had a 'eureka' moment. I thought to myself, 'Wedding and Event Planning then I could work with all these amazing supplies, a combination of everything I love coming together.'
I thought I could study law whilst also getting into the Wedding and Event Planning world but I was sooooooo wrong!! That law degree finished me lol.
By my third and final undergrad year, my family and close friends knew how much I wanted to pursue my career in wedding and event planning (it's all I spoke about.)
After I bagged my law degree, I decided to start looking into the wedding and event planning industry. I started an online course in International Wedding and Event Planning at QC Event school, ILEA Approved (International Live Events Association.)
It wasn't compulsary to be certified in this career path however, I wanted to equip myself in this area, to gain the knowledge and skill required in the wedding and event planning industry. Enrolling on this course is something that I will never regret and after some hard work I was a certified Wedding and Event Planner, woahhh!
In 2019 I decided to launch my business Marvels by H.Kenga it was a beautiful moment. Since then it has been a privilege to support couples on their wedding planning journey or clients on their special celebrations. I feel honoured to be part of the process whether for the full planning, 1hour consultation or on the day coordination.
I am happily married and of course, you can probably guess that I planned my whole wedding in Africa, down to every single detail.
And in 2023 we were blessed to have a beautiful, healthy baby boy.
